2020-09-26 Trearddur Bay Rhoscolyn

My first time in back in Anglesey since, gosh, last year! And what a super paddle. I met up, as pre-arranged, with Si and Kris and we decided to get on at Porth-y-post, just down the road from Porth Dafarch. From there we headed down towards CRAIG-Y-MOR at Trearddur bay, before heading off towards Rhoscolyn. It was fairly windy day blowing F4-F5 occasionally F6, but shelter was found every now and again under the protection of the cliffs. Occasionally however, much effort was required to contend with the wind, and as a result the sea was rougher in various places. Much rock-hopping was performed by the three of us, with eventually me getting caught out and beached on the rocks. Luckily for me the rocks were all seaweed covered and I just had to sit there waiting for the next wave to float me off. The photos, taken by Kris show the sequence of events below. Many Thanks for sharing the pictures Kris.

At Rhoscolyn we had lunch before heading back into the wind all the way back to Porth-y-post. I decided to get off and put the kettle on and have a brew, whilst Si and Kris carried on to Penrhyn Mawr for some extra fun and games. All was nice and peaceful overlooking the beach when sometime later I heard a shout from Si, "Get that Kettle on". Si and Kris had returned.

A fab days paddle.

Thanks once again to Kris for the photos, especially the sequence of me being beached.
